Thanks for the opportunity to respond to your questionnaire. I will attempt as best I can to answer
your questions. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
* Do you or anyone in your immediate family own a dog, cat, ferret, etc?
A) My two children who both live with me, each own one cat.
* Is your animal spayed or neutered?
A) Both cats are spayed
* Do you support any animal rescue organizations or shelters?
A) I am not involved in any animal rescue organizations or shelters
* Do you or anyone in your immediate family hunt, with or without a dog?
A) I do not, nor do my kids hunt.
* Do you philosophically support any animal rights or animal protection organizations? If so, please identify the
organizations.
A) I am not involved in any animal rights or animal protection organization.
* Do any animal rights or animal protection organizations endorse you as a candidate or financially support
your campaign?
A) No, I am not endorsed by any animal protection or animal rights organizations.
* Should Spaying or Neutering of an animal be controlled by the government through legislation or should it be
left between a veterinarian and their client to decide?
A) I feel that spaying and neutering should be left between the veterinarian and client.
* Do you believe in ownership of your animal or “guardianship” where you do not own the animals – you are
strictly a caretaker?
A) I do not understand this question
* Do you support the states' prerogatives to manage their resident wildlife populations and establish local
hunting regulations, without federal interference?
A) I believe it is a state prerogative to manage their resident wildlife population, without federal
interference. This issue might be more complicated if the resident wildlife population is living on
federal lands.
* Do you believe in peoples rights to own (responsibly) any animal of their choice, regardless of species: exotic
or domestic?
A) Under normal circumstance, yes, but in the case of exotic or potentially dangerous animals, the
"responsibility" of the owner becomes an issue.
* Do you believe it is okay to discriminate against exotic animal owners through unfair bans?
A) This would depend on the animal, and the bans. All items would need to be considered.
* What is your position on the following animal and/or hunting related issues?
a)Hunting, including the use of hunting dogs
A) I believe that hunting with or without dogs is okay.
b) Fishing
A) I believe fishing is fine.
c) Animal medical research
A) I think animal medical research needs to be closely studied and monitored, to not allow animal
abuse, while at the same time, to not limit research.
d) Animal ownership and breeding (including pets, livestock, research animal’s)
A) I support animal ownership and breeding is an issue between the animal owners and possibly the
vets.
I hope that I have answered your questions. Again, if you have any further questions, please do not
hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely
Steve Sisolak
