* Do you or anyone in your immediate family own a dog, cat, ferret, etc.?
A: I have owned dogs for most of my life. We recently had to put our dog Oscar down due to a
battle with stomach cancer. We have not gotten a new pet yet as we are still getting over the
loss of our 14 year old friend. My wife's aunt  breeds and shows Maine Coon cats.

* Is your animal spayed or neutered?
A: Yes he was.

* Do you support any animal rescue organizations or shelters?
I do believe in supporting associations that are there to rescue abandoned animals such as the
Humnae Society's no kill shelter.

* Do you or anyone in your immediate family hunt, with or without a dog?
A: No one in my family does, but I have several close friends that hunt.

* Do you philosophically support any animal rights or animal protection organizations? If so,
please identify the organizations.
A: I do not have any affliations to any animal protection organizations.

* Do any animal rights or animal protection organizations endorse you as a candidate or
financially support your campaign?
A: I have recieved no endorsements or any financial support from any of those organizations.

*Do you support intrusive pet legislation, such as the proposed federal law on breeding
frequency and a dog's parenting age (the so-called "Puppy Protection Act," H.R.3484)?
A: I am not very familiar with that resolution, however I am a firm believer in states rights and
feel that regulations regarding breeding should only be at that level.

* Should pets be granted legal rights and accorded "guardianships?"
A: It depends upon what legal rights are being sought. In regard to guardianship, I believe that
pet owners should be allowed to set up pet trusts so that the animal is provided for when their
owner dies.

* Do you support the states' prerogatives to manage their resident wildlife populations and
establish local hunting regulations, without federal interference?
I believe a state has a much better understanding of the wildlife needs of that area than the
federal government.

* What is your position on the following animal and/or hunting related issues?

Hunting, including the use of hunting dogs

Fishing :
A: If an animal is properly trained and cared for I don't foresee any reason why that animal and
owner should not be allowed to engage in fishing.

Animal medical research:
A: As a pet lover, it is difficult to condone animal medical research even though it is a large part
of our pharmaceutical industry.

Animal ownership and breeding (including pets, livestock, research animals
A: I feel an individual should be allowed to own and breed their pets as they choose as long as
they do not put the pet into intentional harm.
